I work in US, but my family is in Canada, and we bought house in Canada (no house in US). Wonder whether the mortgage interest paid in 2008 is tax deductible. Thanks.
Sorry, I forgot to mention the question is about the deduction in US income tax return.

If you are referring to Canadian tax, no. In Canada capital gains on your primary residence are exempt from tax, but not mortgage interest.

This gives Canadians the incentive to get their mortgage paid off asap unless they are renting the home to someone else.

- close to University of Calgary
- hospital
- school /daycare
- public transportation
- shopping malls

Also how much is the range for a 3-bed house?
I would like the area to be good, decent ’cause my parents would be visiting often.

This is the house (er… mansion) that Stu Hart made famous.

It is an old home that used to be outside the city limits of Calgary… wrestling legend Stu Hart purchased it back in 1956… The city gradually grew up to it and around it with newer homes… Stu Hart lived in the house until his death a couple of years ago…

Hart House is a student activity centre at the University of Toronto. Established in 1919, it is one of the earliest North American student centres. Hart House was initiated and financed by Vincent Massey, an alumnus and benefactor of the university, and was named in honour of his grandfather, Hart Massey. The Gothic-revival complex was the work of architect Henry Sproatt, who subsequently designed the campanile at its southwestern corner, Soldiers’ Tower.
