Vancouver’s Fringe Festival sees attendance jump 25 per cent
Attendance was up by a whopping 25 per cent at this year’s Vancouver International Fringe Festival. Artistic director David Jordan said at the Sunday close that about 26,000 people attended the festival, which ran Sept. 9 to 19.

The Ottawa Tulip Festival is one of the biggest in the world with over 3 million tulips. Ottawa provided a safe haven for members of the Dutch royal family during World War 2 who began a tradition of gifting thousands of tulip bulbs each year to the people of Canada to symbolize international friendship. Tulips tend to appear surreal when they are illuminated both by reflected light and by transmitted light (backlight) simultaneously. I attempted to superboost the colors but there was no significant increase in color saturation so I left the saturation at its default value.
