Charges against waffle-throwing fan dropped
A frustrated Toronto Maple Leafs fan won’t be doing time or have to pay a fine for throwing waffles on the ice at a game. Joe Robb was charged with mischief after making his breakfast-style protest at a Dec. 20 game at the Air Canada Centre against the Atlanta Thrashers. The charges were dropped Thursday in return for five hours of community service.

TORONTO – A painting by Canadian artist Paul Peel went for a cool $ 413,000 Monday night at the Joyner Fall Auction in Toronto. “Orchestra Chairs,” painted in 1892, was one of Peel’s final and largest paintings and had a pre-auction estimate of $ 400,000 to $ 500,000.
