On June 7, 2006 the Calgary Exhibition & Stampede officially broke ground on the Stampede Park development plans. To honor the significance of moving from planning to building, the Stampede commissioned Scott Clark, a local artist, to create a mural that will be displayed along 12th Ave and Olympic Way SE before the 2006 Calgary Stampede.
