What should I know about Denmark to Canada emigration procedures?

Tuesday, February 15th, 2011 | Canada with No Comments »

Question by Lal: What should I know about Denmark to Canada emigration procedures?
Specifically, what does the law says about procedures to follow for a Danish citizen moving permanently to Canada?

Where should he start? What papers does he need, from Canada, and Denmark? What can he do to get a Visa quickly, or to pass the citizenship test when he gets to Canada? Would it accelerate the entire procedure by obtaining a marriage license while in Canada?

I have heard of the concept of an international “invitation” that a citizen can send to someone in another country, to fast-track their passage into the inviter’s country. Is this the case for Canada and Denmark?

Answer by CBB
Here is a Canadian site dealing with immigration to Canada:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/index.html

The site includes a newcomers introduction to Canada and links to the different classes of immigration. The following link has the various immigration forms:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/applications/menu-outside.html

There are no specific procedures (at least from Canada’s standpoint) for immigrating from specific countries such as Denmark. Being able to speak & write both English and French (this is a huge plus), no criminal record, having job skills that are needed in Canada all count towards how quickly one’s application will be processed.

I’m not aware of any particular individual “invitations” although each province has their own “nomination” programs. Specifically, if the individual has certain skills that are of need in a particular province, you can get nominated from the province. This can tend to speed up the process.

What do you think about Canada trying to get the US to change environmental laws so they can sell more oil?

Tuesday, December 28th, 2010 | Canada with 12 Comments

Question by Michael l: What do you think about Canada trying to get the US to change environmental laws so they can sell more oil?
The US currenlty refuses to buy oil from canada from any new sites. The US will only buy oil from old sites. But canada wants to drill in new sites, and they want the US to buy it. Canadian lobbyists are all over Washignton trying to get the law changed. What do you think of this. Why do you think the media does’t cover it. And do you think it’s okay for canada to do this because it’s canada. How would you feel if Americans did this?

This is what lobbyists DO.

I’ve looked on ticketmaster an on the Canadiens website and I’m not sure how to buy tickets. Can someone please fill me on how to go about getting these tickets and some details that I may need to know?
