Calgary Stampede 2007 Dates
Each year, millions of visitors from around the world come to Calgary, Alberta, Canada to partake in the annual event, the Calgary Stampede and Exhibition. As Calgary’s most popular tourist attraction, ‘the greatest outdoor show on earth’ features a real rodeo, a midway (amusement park), concerts, chuckwagon races and more.
The city of Calgary is transformed for 10 days into town celebrating the cowboy culture. Visitors will enjoy the atmosphere and always friendly attitude of the locals.
Calgary Stampede festivites begin with a downtown parade July 6.

Calgary Racetrack Centre – Balzac
Work has begun. Dirt is being moved around and things are beginning to happen at the Balzac racetrack near Calgary.
Pretty exciting stuff. The track is expected to change the area from farms to strip malls and homes. some expected 50,000 new residents over the next 10 – 15 years is expected for the 1 horse town of Balzac.

This year’s Stampede Grandstand Show is unabashedly, unapologetically patriotic and provincial. Kudos to impresario Bill Avery, who conceived the show, director Brian Foley, composer Dave Pierce and designer Pierre Marleau for realizing it’s about time we thurst our collective chest out and patted ourselves on the back.
For the show’s full 90 minutes the performers sing, dance and even fly through the air telling us just how proud we should be of Canada and Calgary.
